Exprimo – The Face of Russian Translation at the TM Europe 2008 Conference

The Translation Management Europe – Customers, Vendors and Processes Management Today conference was held in Warsaw on October 9-10. The Polish Association of Translation Agencies and the Translation Management Global company served as the organizers of the event. The conference was sponsored by LioNBRIDGE, ALCHEMY Software Development, Star Group, Plunet, LTC, LIDO-LANG, KILGRAY, MAart – Agency Translations, Polskie Stowarzyszenie Biuro Tlumaczen, Tilp – The Institute of Localization Professionals, PROZ, and CNGL.

The conference was attended by European-based translation service provides, large companies from different lines of industry, freelance translators, and software manufacturers that provide industry-related processes management solutions and computerized translation system software (MemoQ, Star, Alchemy, XTRF-TM and LTC Worx). Russia was represented at the conference by the Exprimo translation company. The conference examined issues concerning the management of sales, providers and quality, the application and management of technologies, processes management, and translation service standards.

The first day’s program was split into two sections: a seminar showcasing modern technologies involved in both translation work and industry-related processes management, and a seminar devoted to translation service sales and customer service management training. The second day of the conference was dedicated to individual presentations by speaker who covered the broadest variety of themes: the creation and innovation of Value, processes management, the creation of matrix and benchmarks for improving the management of translation companies and enterprises’ translation departments, a freelance translator’s perspective on the industry, creating a global brand for your local language service provider, and other subjects.

“The conference went great,” said Dmitry Beloshapkin, General Director of the Exprimo translation company. “We considered and made a detailed analysis of issues that are of greatest importance and concern to every participant of the market. Issues like the application and development of technologies in the industry, the management of processes and quality, and the creation of value for the client. Personally, I very much liked the seminar on translation service sales and customer service management: it came up with a lot of useful ideas whose implementation will both improve our work and raise the level of customer service. I would also like to highlight the plenary session that came at the end of the conference, which was devoted to the relationship between translation service providers and freelance translators. It was especially lively and exciting because it involved an open and honest dialogue between representatives of the two sides, one that is so important for supporting and enhancing relations.”

We would like to note that Exprimo was the only company representing our country at the Translation Management Europe – Customers, Vendors and Processes Management Today conference. We hope that many more Russian companies will attend next year’s event.
